Marble is a metamorphic form of limestone that has been created by extreme heat and pressure; compressed under the earth’s surface for millions of years, marble can be identified by the beautiful ‘veins’ that run through it, giving it a spectacular quality and finish. Marble is more porous than granite and its surface can be susceptible to the effects of acidic products. It is often used in bathrooms, and to stunning effect in entrances or rooms where you want to create an impact or make a statement. Marble is available with polished, honed or acid wash finishes and like granite, provides a broad range of colours from pure white to warm browns, and dramatic greys or blacks. When exposed to the right kind of chemical treatments, marble not only looks stunning, it will also last for years to come.
